answer

You'll need a blood test before chemotherapy to count the number of blood cells in your blood. If your blood counts are too low, you might have to wait a bit longer for your next session of chemotherapy. You might also need a transfusion of red blood cells or platelets. Not enough red blood cells and platelets means your energy level is down, and not enough white blood cells means you can’t fight off infections. If your blood counts are high enough, and you’re feeling well, you can go ahead with your chemotherapy session.
