answer
Salads may sound inherently healthy, but they are not. In fact, a salad could easily be over 1000 calories at your local diner. What will determine if a salad will cause weight gain is what you are putting in it. Some common high-calorie salad ingredients include; cheese, creamy dressings, nuts/seeds, tuna or chicken salad made with mayonnaise, higher fat meats like beef, sausage, or ham, and/or even veggies if they have been prepared with a lot of oil. In short, any food or meal can cause weight gain if you are eating too much of it or it is made with higher fat/calorie ingredients, even salad!
