answer

Over-the-counter medications that treat ulcers are available at your local drug store. Antacids, digestive tract-fortifying medicines like Pepto-Bismol, and topical creams are available, along with other medications that may help relieve pain and hasten the healing process. However, although OTC drugs like antacids can reduce the pain caused by an ulcer, do not consider it a replacement for seeking medical attention if it is necessary. OTC drugs may only be able to treat symptoms, in which case you'll need a prescription from your doctor to treat the cause of your ulcer.
