What skin conditions can look like psoriasis?
Psoriasis can often be confused with other skin conditions like eczema. Pediatrician Taz Bhatia, MD, explains the similarities and differences between varying skin conditions.

The other thing that can be confused with psoriasis are yeast infections. Oftentimes, a yeast rash will resemble psoriasis
because there's so many different types of psoriasis rash. [MUSIC PLAYING]
There are so many skin conditions that can confuse us in the office because they look like psoriasis, and we sometimes are scratching our heads.
But one of the most common is eczema. Eczema has a very similar appearance to psoriasis,
but the difference is that eczema is usually in places where the skin will bend, like your knee or your elbow, or even like, you know,
your fingers or places like that. Psoriasis can be almost anywhere.
It can be in your scalp. It can be on your chest. It can be on your back. It can be in so many different places.
Psoriasis is also a little bit angrier looking than eczema, but that's one of the most common things that I think confuse any of us in the practice.

because there's so many different types of psoriasis rash. So that gets a little bit confusing to sift through as well. [MUSIC PLAYING]
