Is Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing Enough?
While non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) is good at screening for changes in the number of expected chromosomes in a fetus, an invasive prenatal test needs to be done to confirm the changes. Patricia Geraghty, NP, talks about NIPT in this video.

PATRICIA GERAGHTY, NP: Non-invasive prenatal testing, or NIPT, is looking for genetic changes in the baby. But it is still considered a screening test.
So while it's very good at finding a change that's there-- and pretty good at not telling us a change is there
