Transcript
Absolutely. Ultrasound is a part of treatment when you come into our practice. And we use that to help the tissues to get oxygenation
and to heal. Ultrasound is one of the modalities as physical therapists that we use. And what we do is we apply this to the patient
to get the deep heating effect that helps with circulation. And you know, if you look at my finger, I know my finger exactly is 3 inches long.
And when we look at this ultrasound, it's not just a superficial like a hot pack. It's going in about 2 and 1/2 inches
below the skin's surface. And what you'll only feel is a gentle warmth, if anything, but it does help. And it's been proven to show that it affects
the way that the nerves, the circulation to the nerves, and especially to the discs, because the disc by itself does not have its own adequate blood supply.
So the heating effect will really help to get the tissues to heal and also to relax the muscle spasms that are guarding
chronic pain
