PATRICIA GERAGHTY: Both pre and postmenopause age ranges can have hypoactive sexual desire disorder.
[AMBIENT MUSIC]
Both, men and women can have hypoactive sexual desire disorder. My area of practice is women.
Women, see your gynecological specialists. Men, typically start with urologists. However, both men and women may be referred to someone
with even more specialized training in sexual disorders. What is hypoactive sexual desire disorder?
Little interest in sex, few thoughts related to sex, decrease start or rejecting of sex, little pleasure during sex
most of the time, decreased interest in sex even when exposed to erotic stimuli,
little genital sensations during sex most of the time. The incidence among women when the distress is included
is 8 to 19% of women. Both pre and postmenopause age ranges
can have hypoactive sexual desire disorder. The causes of hypoactive sexual desire disorder
are varied or even unknown. While some women report issues after childbirth
or after menopause, it can occur at any time. The first step is to be accurately diagnosed.
