Who is not a good candidate for combination birth control pills?
In general, birth control pills are very safe; but there are specific risk factors that make the pill dangerous for some women. OB/GYN specialist Lauren Streicher, MD, explains which women should steer clear of taking the pill and why.

In general, the pill has become very safe over the years, and most women are able to take the pill, even up to the age of 55.
However, certain women need to steer clear. Women over the age of 35 who smoke, who are obese,
someone who has had a blood clot. And if there's any doubt, of course, talk to your doctor. Let them know any past medical history and any symptoms
you might have. Not every woman who has vestibulodynia is because of taking a low-dose pill. However, if everything is fine, you're a young woman,
you've recently started a low-dose pill, and in spite of being totally in lust with your partner, you're suddenly starting to have pain with intercourse,
