So for instance, let's say you grab just a bagel. That's like eating four pieces of bread.
But there's no other nutrients. So there's nothing to balance that out with, like having some protein or healthy fat or fruits, milk, dairy.
Or eating, let's say, just a big old bowl of fruit, which may seem healthy, but it's actually not that balanced. So by the time you're done eating a really big bowl
of fruit, you will have had a lot of carbohydrate that's not balanced with anything like protein or healthy fat.
So a much better breakfast is to think about balancing it with some kind of whole grain, some kind of protein,
and/or dairy, and then having some fruit, so whether you're having a breakfast sandwich that
might be an English muffin with an egg on it and a piece of fruit or some juice,
or having a breakfast burrito, or having a waffle with some cottage cheese
and fresh fruit or a yogurt parfait, or having some salmon, like lox, with a half of bagel
and some fresh fruit. Those are all different kinds of combinations that actually are much better than having just one of any one of those items.
