have patients who have one swollen finger, one swollen knee and they come in and I give them a local injection of cortisone, and
for the most part as long as their X-rays don't show underlying bone damage, they don't need medication. So again it really depends
on the number of joints involved, how limited you are and whether it interferes with your daily activities.
