There's lots to love about legumes. They're high in fiber, good source of protein, and cheap.
They're also naturally low in fat and good for your blood sugar. And they may even help you lose weight.
A new study finds that people who eat a cup of legumes a day feel about 30% fuller than folks who skip beans.
That's great news, because feeling full helps prevent overeating.
There are a lot of ways to add more legumes to your meals. Use them in soups, salads, and chili.
You can even make veggie burgers with beans. Canned beans are great for convenience. Just look for low sodium or no salt added varieties.
And keep dried lentils on hand too. They don't require any pre-soaking and they cook up in just 20 minutes.
