Should I avoid carbohydrates when trying to lose weight?

[MUSIC PLAYING] These foods are all so good for you. High in fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants. You have to have these in your diet to be healthy.
And they are, also, great components of a weight loss program.
Should you avoid carbohydrates when you're trying to lose weight? No. We love carbohydrates.
We love whole wheat pasta and whole grain bread and quinoa and bagels.
Who doesn't love all of that stuff? And they're good for you when they're the whole grains.
Now remember, carbohydrates are not just starches, like potatoes and bread. They're also fruits and vegetables and beans.
These foods are all so good for you. High in fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants. You have to have these in your diet to be healthy.
And they are, also, great components of a weight loss program. So don't completely eliminate your starchy carbs.
Have some. Enjoy the whole grain ones, just don't go overboard.
For example, instead of having a huge plate of pasta with sauce have, maybe, a cup of pasta and load it up with vegetables.
And that will fill it out, it will fill you up, and you'll still get that healthy carb fix that you want. [AUDIO LOGO]
