You might already do some of these things, but if you apply all of them to your daily routine, you can dramatically cut your risk of stroke.
Number 1, walk every day. Number 2, maintain a healthy weight. Number 3, avoid cigarette smoke.
Number 4, enjoy alcohol only in moderation. And number 5, eat nutritiously.
One large study found that people who follow these five basic health habits the most were 80% less likely to have an ischemic stroke, the most
common type of stroke. These study participants exercised 30 minutes a day and had a body mass index below 25.
Their diets were packed with fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins, and they drank only in moderation.
And of course, they didn't smoke. These habits can also combat other diseases, such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
So if you're already on the road to good health, keep going. [MUSIC PLAYING]
