My name is Ke'Ara, I am from Alabama, and I've had thyroid eye disease for almost 10 years.
[MUSIC PLAYING] The word would be elusive. Looking back, I had characteristics before actually seeing the full on thyroid eye
disease in my eyes. It was discouraging to not be able to fulfill a lot of the plans that I had for my life
like going to get my masters. It just stopped me from doing things.
It was hard because at that point, I had not known anyone who had ever had thyroid eye disease or any thyroid problem in general.
Knowing that there are options now, that was how I was able to stay positive then, and now there are even more options available.
People living with thyroid eye disease are strong people. There dealing with an illness that you can actually
see on their face. [AUDIO LOGO]
