If you're eligible, now is the time to get your updated vaccinations.
Transcript
Dr. Jen Caudle here to encourage everyone to get your updated vaccinations for the flu, COVID-19, and RSV.
If you're eligible and you haven't already, now is the time. The flu, COVID-19, and RSV can be serious.
And vaccination is the best way to protect yourself from severe illness and complications, including hospitalization and even death.
These illnesses are highly contagious. They can spread quickly in settings like your office or your child's school or daycare.
So parents, make sure you and your children are protected. Vaccination is safe, and side effects are usually mild and temporary.
In general, the CDC suggests everyone over the age of six months get both the updated flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Some folks may need additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. And, if you're 60 years of age or older, check with your health care provider
to see if you should get an RSV vaccine. All babies should be vaccinated against RSV in one of two ways.
If you're 32 to 36 weeks pregnant, you can get the RSV vaccine to protect your baby. If your baby is less than eight months old,
they should receive an RSV antibody vaccine. Talk to your health care provider for specific guidance for you and your family.
Stay healthy, everyone. [MUSIC PLAYING] [WHOOSH]
