Having a doctor of color really doesn't matter to me personally as long as the person has
a diverse background. [MUSIC PLAYING]
I wasn't diagnosed with psoriasis until I actually saw my pulmonologist. She acknowledged that I had psoriasis
and that I should go back to the dermatologist. I currently do have a rheumatologist, and they are not very accessible.
The closest rheumatologist is about 30 minutes away. Sometimes it can be up to an hour's travel with traffic.
It's extremely important to have access to doctors who are local. Waiting two to three weeks for an appointment and then maybe
not being able to drive there because of symptoms, it makes it really difficult. I would appreciate having a female doctor.
I think they may possibly be a little more understanding. Having a doctor of color really doesn't matter to me
personally as long as the person has a diverse background with taking care of patients of all ethnicities.
