I feel like majority of the health care providers that I went to, I feel like they failed me. [MUSIC PLAYING]
It's the perception in the health care community that MS is a white woman's disease.
A lot of doctors don't look at a person of color such as myself and say, OK, you have all the laundry
list of different symptoms that a person would have with MS. I had been struggling with symptoms
for years, the worst symptoms being horrible spasms in my lower back.
I was misdiagnosed with a host of different issues. And it was difficult emotionally, physically.
And some days, I wanted to give up. But ultimately, I'm a fighter. And so I was able to come out of that darkness
that I experienced. [AUDIO LOGO]
