Jeanne explains how wet AMD has altered her lifestyle.
Transcript
I'm talking to you from the driver's seat of a car that I can't drive. You see, even though I can and do see well enough to read road
and traffic signs, a few months ago I did not see well enough to pass the vision part of my driver's test.
I think the hardest day I've had with wet macular was the day two months ago when I
had to swap my driver's license for a photo ID. Despite the DMV women who were so kind,
that was a really hard day, because it didn't just nick my wings to have to turn in my driver's license, it cut them completely off.
No longer could I pick up the keys and holler out, "I'll be back. I'm going to run some errands."
No, that's not possible now. I now have to depend on somebody to take me anywhere I want to go. It's something I have to learn to live with,
but I haven't yet emotionally or mentally. [MUSIC PLAYING]
